Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

Dreamers.  This is the term reserved for those children and young adults who came to the United States as children, and who, in most cases, know no other home than the United States of America.  While the Dream Act has not been passed by Congress, these Dreamers can now secure work authorization, a driver’s license and may be able to leave the country and return legally—thereby qualifying them for adjustment of status.

The requirements for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA for short is that the foreign national must have entered the United States before their 16th birthday.  They must have been out of status as of June 15, 2012, have been in the United States for five years and be between 15 and 31 years old on that same date, or turn 15 afterwards.  They must have graduated high school or be taking a class in school. There are also certain criminal convictions that will disqualify someone from receiving this benefit.

The team at has helped hundreds of Dreamers obtain this benefit.  It is a new process and is complicated.  There is no appeal from a denial.  Those who want to apply for Deferred Action should secure experienced legal representation to ensure their success.

Remember, Deferred Action is at its core, simply a promise that the foreign national will not be deported, even though the person is inside the United States without legal status.  It does not give legal status.  Only an experienced immigration attorney can give you legal advice on how this new program affects you.

The team at Discount Green will be pleased to explore with you and evaluate your position to see if deferred action is right for you.

If it is found that the program is right for you, we can explain and guide you through the process, compile and complete all necessary paperwork and help your application to be processed.

With our use of technology we can offer affordable, and heavily discounted legal help from qualified immigration lawyers right across all 50 States.
